Introduction

E-mails must be sent from and to e-mail accounts. For this reason you must give Gandhican both a destination e-mail address and a valid SMTP e-mail account to send messages "from". If you use a desktop or mobile e-mail application (Outlook, Thunderbird, Euroda, etc) you should be able to copy the required settings out of its preferences (see below).

If you use webmail (you read your e-mail through a website, like GMail, Hotmail or Yahoo mail) don't despair - most modern webmail systems also offer SMTP access, though you may have to enable it in your account settings - see your webmail website's help section for more details.

Destination e-mail address

The e-mail address to send uploaded files to - may be any internet e-mail address.

Mail server

The SMTP mail server of the account you wish to send e-mails from (usually mail.yourdomain.com or smtp.yourdomain.com).

Username

The fully-qualified username of the e-mail account you wish to send e-mails from. Usually yourusername@yourdomain.com - don't forget to include your domain as well as your username).

Password

The password of the e-mail account you wish to send e-mails from.

Your password will stay within your Gandhican app, and will never be reported back to us, or transmitted anywhere else. Not only are we strongly in favour of privacy rights, but your e-mail details will never leave your device's memory, so we couldn't get at it to pass it on even if we wanted to. ;-)

Google Maps link

Automatically include a link to Google Maps, to display a map view of the location in which the photo, video or audio file was captured.
